The best chocolate chip cookies


We love chocolate chip cookies around here! We have tried all the recipes and been making chocolate chip cookies for something like 15 years ( not to count eating a lot of chocolate chip cookies in my childhood) and these chocolate chip cookies are BY FAR the best chocolate chip cookie recipe you will ever try and the secret is in the butter and the baking time.


So I am not one for those long lengthy blog posts talking clllll about why this or that is the best and so on, so lets just get to this recipe that will change your life and have you throwing out all your other chocolate chip cookie recipes. This is it. You don’t need anymore.

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe:

1 cup (2 sticks) of butter, MELTED ( it must be melted)

1/2 cup white sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla

1 egg

1 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 tsp salt

2 1/4 cups flour

2 cups chocolate chips

Set oven to 375 degrees

I never separate my dry and wet ingredients with this recipe and it doesn’t seem to make a huge difference. So if you are like me and like recipes that are quick and require only one or two bowls and less to clean then just dump it all in there like me. The only thing you have to be extra diligent about is that the butter needs to be melted to make these cookies extra gooey.

Dump all the ingredients in to your mixing bowl and mix until combined.

Use a tablespoon or ice cream scoop and scoop out your dough onto two prepared baking sheets ( I line with parchment paper) and bake in the oven for 4 min. Then switch your cookie sheets around so they bake evenly ( top now goes on the bottom, bottom now goes on the top) and bake for another 3-4 min. These will not look cooked, but they will continue baking once you pull them out of the oven and this will also help in making extra gooey and delicious cookies ( unless you like crunchy cookies… which in that case I can’t help you).
