When it comes to having a beautiful decorated home not every item has to be expensive. In this post I want to share with you our top Ikea home decor picks. We have used these items in our home for creating a designer home on a budget!

Ikea Home Decor
Ikea has long been one of mine (and mostly everyone else’s) favourite places to find beautiful home decor. At a fraction of every other retailers prices its a great option for shopping decor!
The best thing about Ikea is that most of their product are very neutral. And can be added or even transformed to suite many different design styles and homes.
I have done my fair share of Ikea hacks in the past. And plan on doing a round up post of my favourite Ikea hacks in the future. But for this post I wanted to focus on the products we have used in our homes. The ones we have left, for the most part, as is!
Home decor on a budget
I am sure we have used many more products in our home. However for this post I wanted to share our tried and true favourites. With photos of where we have used them. Starting off this Ikea home decor favourites list are …

Hemnes Dresser’s
We have used a few different dressers from ikea throughout the years. However we keep coming back to the Hemnes dresser for its beautiful design and amazing durability! This line is of some of the highest quality when it comes to dressers. It far surpasses many more expensive brands and we can not sing its praises enough!
We have three in our home. And two of them we have had for over 7 years now, and they still look like new!

Light Fixtures
When it comes to affordable light fixtures, the Ikea lights can not be beat in price! I used to not be a huge fan of their lighting. However in recent years they have really stepped up their game. Now I often look to them first when sourcing new lighting for a project! I am especially fond of their bamboo pendant lighting as well as this beauty of a chandelier recently released!

Plant pots and belly baskets
For many years I only used faux plants when it came to decorating our home. I have since branched (see what I did there) into real plants. But still go back to the affordable plant pot selection ikea has to offer. As well as some of their faux plants when the need arises!
A few of my favourite plant pots we have scattered throughout our home are… Gradvis, Fridfull , Papaja, and I would love to get my hands on one of these cuties Vanligen. They also sell great belly baskets.
We also can’t stop singing the praises of the Lack floating shelves, also shown in the photo above. And featured in the photo below in a recent project we completed! We have used these floating shelves for years and we love them!

Kitchen Cabinets, and countertops!
If you are in the market to replace or are building a brand new kitchen. Look no further than the Ikea kitchen cabinets. I have had to convince people that these cabinets really are all that and a bag of chips. But once they have arrived and my design clients have lived with them for a time, they can’t stop singing their praises either!
On that note, we recently used the Ikea Ekbacken grey countertops in a project. I was blown away with how stunning these laminate countertops were! They look like a concrete countertop only better and the price was amazing!

Ikea shoe cabinet
My last Ikea home decor selection for a designer home on a budget is the Ikea shoe cabinet. This cabinet is also part of the Hemnes collection. However I wanted to list it separately for the fact that its not only priced really well, its perfect for small spaces that need unique storage! We use ours in our master bedroom (check out our boho master bedroom reveal here) and store all kinds of things in it, except shoes!
I hope you found this post helpful. We would love if you checked out our other home decor posts found here!
