Every once in a while I get a craving for chocolate pie. Well ok maybe it’s more often than every once in a while…. I have been known to eat it not only for dessert but for breakfast and possibly even lunch.
Today though I was out of my usual chocolate pie ingredients so I had to improvise. Improvising recipes usually results in not so impressive results BUT TODAY my improvising turned into a sweet and chocolatey pie, that was smooth and light but at the same time full of fudge flavour. It was so good I just had to share it, in case you too are in need of a chocolate pie that’s super quick and absolutely delicious.
Chocolate Pie Recipe:
2 large eggs
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 tbsp melted butter
Mix all your ingredients together in a bowl, and spoon into either a homemade or store bought pie shell (I swear by Pillsbury), then bake at 350 degrees for 40 min. My crust did shrink and ended up looking more like a rustic chocolate torte…. but for the sake of simplicity and the fact that I kind of love rustic looking food I was ok with this!
Serve with a good scoop of Ice Cream.
Enjoy!
