An easy and delicious coconut syrup recipe!
Who doesn’t love the sweet and summery flavour of coconut! Around our house we are always looking for the perfect way to make cafe worthy iced coffees but from the comfort (and budget approved) of our own home. If you are looking for the perfect iced coffee syrup that’s super easy to make at home you are in the right spot!

The Best Coconut Simple Syrup Recipe
This recipe came about because of my summer love affair last year with coconut coffee! I had originally stumbled across a favourite recipe from lovetaza on instagram where she shared her strange but delicious love for putting coconut coffee creamer in Diet Coke. This sounded amazing to me, because I like weird summery drinks too. So my hunt for coconut coffee creamer began.
It turns out here in Canada our grocery stores don’t carry coconut coffee syrup. This was a sad day for me until I realized I could totally make my own. I simply combined store bought coconut syrup and regular coffee mate creamer in my Diet Coke and (insert angelic sounds) my dream drink was mine!
What does this have to do with iced coffee you may wonder. Well after I fell in love with this coconut concoction I started trying coconuts syrup in just about every beverage and it turns out its THE BEST as a simple syrup in coffee.
Forget your boring vanilla, caramel or almond coffee syrup, coconut is truly so so good. You have to try it! My husband and I both got a pretty good addiction going until one day I realized we were spending a LOT on coconut syrup. The bottles at our grocery store go for around $15-$20 each and we were flying through those suckers, fast.
I decided in order to save some money I needed to figure out how to make my own and it turns out it’s super simple, tastes just as good if not better and saves some cash. Win win win.

How to make coconut syrup
To make this sweet and summery coconut syrup you will need
- 3 cups of water
- 3 cups of sugar
- 3/4 tbsp of imitation coconut extract
Instructions
To make the simple coconut syrup combine all the ingredients in a pot on the stove and bring to a boil. Once the syrup is boiling reduce to a simmer until all the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely before storing in a container of your choice.
I like to use the Torani glass bottles with a pump to help us measure out the syrup into our iced coffee but you can just as easily use any storage container and keep it on your counter for all your coffee needs.
I like to make my coconut iced coffee with the pre-made Starbucks iced coffee. You can buy this at any grocery store but the cheapest I have found is at our local Costco in a two pack! Then I add 2-3 pumps of coconut syrup and a good splash of cream. The perfect sweet and summery iced coffee from home.

Enjoy!
