The Best DIY Pottery Vase Tutorials Using Only Paint and Baking Soda!
Hey guys! In the summer I shared a tutorial on how to easily transform an old vase using only baking soda and paint! These DIY projects have really taken off in the last couple months, so I thought I was share my top 6 tutorials for creating a pottery effect on anything from vases to urns to lamps, with you today.
Paint & Baking Soda
My original tutorial I shared here on The Beauty Revival used paint and baking soda to create a textured clay looking paint that I brushed onto a ceramic vase to look like pottery. There are sooooo many variations of this project. Some use salt, others baking powder and the amounts can be different per person as well.
The thing to keep in mind is that this is not a project that can easily be messed up. No exact measurements are actually required to recreate this thick textured paint mixture. This is really one of the most simple DIY projects, and is perfect for those who actually don’t love to DIY but want to save money on decor.
I have included a few different variations with these other tutorials as well. Chalk paint, textured spray paint, plaster of Paris, these tutorials will give you some more inspiration for different materials you can use to achieve the pottery effect.
You can also swap out the chalk paint and textured spray paint and recreate these looks with paint and baking soda as well. Exact measurements I used can be found in the last tutorial on this post.
