Our New Business, Selling Full Time On Etsy

My husband and I recently started a new business this fall called Revival Goods. What started with the re-making of our living room coffee table to sell turned into a full time business when we listed some of our smaller home decor pieces on Etsy!

Selling On Etsy

It’s been a while since I wrote any blog posts, or uploaded any videos to our YouTube Channel. What stared out as a part time project in the fall, has turned into Jade’s and my full time job and we are loving every second of it.

Revival Goods is our new baby and we are enjoying working on a business together. Jade handcrafts all our woodworking projects that we design together and I am in charge of packaging. shipping and marketing here at home.

Its the perfect solution to a dream we have had for many years now … I think its been almost 5 years that we started dreaming of one day working together on our own business.

Sometimes life is funny how you can dream about something and than almost by chance it seems, have it happen when you were least expecting it. Thats kind of what. happened with Revival Goods.

It all started 7 years ago when I was still blogging under the name OhMyDearBlog and I came across a coffee table on Restoration Hardware that was wayyyy out of our budget.

I showed a photo of it to Jade and asked him if he could make one and he did with his own spin on it. We blogged about the whole process and shared it on Pinterest where it took off.

That blog ended up crashing ( thats what happens if you stop blogging and don’t take care of your website, oops) and I was getting lots of messages on Instagram asking if we sold our coffee table, knew of anyone who did or had our old blog post anywhere.

I had been telling Jade how many questions I still got about that coffee table so one day while he was covering for my Dad at my Dad’s shop he decided to rebuild one to sell.

My Dad had given him free range of the shop while he worked their for the week so I also asked him if he would make me a small display riser I had seen on Amazon but that was not available in Canada.

He came home with cutest little mini display stool and we decided to see if we could sell some just by sharing them on my Instagram, and we sold 6 locally in two hours! Honestly at the time we were shocked, we didn’t know if anyone would want one, so to sell 6 felt like winning the lottery haha. And Revival Goods was born!

A month later we got a custom request from a lovely follower on Instagram to make a cookbook stand. I had two requirements from Jade in my ideal dream cookbook stand, one I wanted it to be pretty.

Two I wanted it to fit and hold even the most awkward and cumbersome cookbook stands that never stay open. Jade made all my dreams come true and made a beautiful and functional cookbook stand. That month we decided to list our display stools and cookbook stands on Etsy.

I applied all my experience and tricks I had learned for marketing and running a lifestyle blog and social media in making our photos and shop look beautiful and within weeks of listing our first items we were swamped in orders!

Needless to say we were not prepared for the Christmas rush and we are just now catching our breath from all the madness of starting a brand new business basically at Christmas time haha.

Now that things have settled down I wanted to come on here and share what we have been up to as well as announce a NEW course I am working on.

It will be a course for How To Sell On Etsy for Beginners. It will include everything I have learned and applied to our etsy shop like creating the perfect listing.

Using Keywords to help your listings get found on Etsy AND how to style and photograph your items with only a phone and the Lightroom for mobile app.

This course will be everything you need to start a business on Etsy and hopefully be working full time for yourself in the near future!

I am still working on the course, but hopefully I will be able to have it completed and released soon!

Today is supposed to be ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž and Iโ€™ve go Today is supposed to be ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž and Iโ€™ve got my favourite iced coffee ready! I use the Costco Starbucks iced coffee, 2 pumps of homemade coconut syrup and a good splash of cream.
Homemade coconut syrup recipe:
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
2 tsp artificial coconut extract (I buy mine one Amazon)
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Once the sugar has dissolved remove from heat and let cool. Thatโ€™s it! I store mine in an old glass torani syrup bottle and then I am able to just pump it in my coffee like a real life barista โญ๏ธ
Whatโ€™s your favourite way to drink iced coffee?!?
