Our family eats homemade pizza every Thursday night for Family Movie Night. Everyone loves homemade pizza night, but I secretly love it the most because as the main meal maker, the secret thing about homemade pizza is, it can be really really quick and easy to pull together. Its all in the pizza dough recipe you use, and luckily I have done the homework of trying out lots of different pizza dough recipes and have landed on our families favourite. I hope it will be yours too!
I thought I would share our favourite recipe with you as well as three versions of the toppings we use that are tried and true and we love love love them! This pizza dough can be frozen or stored in the fridge but it really is best if baked right away. It makes two pizzas, and we don’t usually make it through 2 pizzas in an evening, so I store the leftovers in the fridge or freezer once cooked. This works best for the fluffiest pizza, rather then using the dough at a later date!

The Beauty Revival Pizza Dough Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tsp dry active yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 500 degreesPour 1 1/2 cups of warm water into a bowl and sprinkle your yeast on top, set aside. In the bowl of your stand mixer, add in your flour and salt and with the speed on low drizzle in your olive oil. Once incorporated, slowly drizzle your water and yeast mixture into the flour mixture. Mix until the dough forms a ball. Spray a medium size bowl with oil and place your ball of dough in and let rise for 2 hours If you make this earlier in the day it can rise for longer, but must rise for at least 2 hours. Seperate into two balls and roll each ball out into a circle, or if you are like me, a sloppy rectangle for a more rustic looking pizza. Place these on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and add your toppings. Bake in a 500 degree oven for 10 min or until lightly golden brown.
Now for our favourite toppings!
- Pepperoni Pizza – For this pepperoni pizza we use pepperoni sticks and cut them into bite size pizzas. We stumbled on this because we ran out of pepperoni slices haha and needed to make due with what we had. It turned out SO GOOD we have never gone back. We use pizza sauce, then sliced up pepperoni, then sprinkle cheddar/mozza cheese all over the top.
2. Fancy Peaches Pizza – this pizza is SO GOOD, and really sounds fancy but even our kids loved it and it was a fun departure form our regular old pizza toppings. We used 2 tbsp of olive oil and then sprinkled garlic salt over the dough for our “sauce” then I sliced up thinly a can of peaches and placed over dough. Next I added some Boursin Cheese but only about 1/4 of the package for one pizza, you don’t want tooooo much. Next I add small chunks of pizza mozzarella but again not to much, less cheese is more with this pizza. Lastly I sprinkled a pinch of red pepper flakes and some chopped up green onions and baked. Once you pull it out of the oven, drizzle with honey and balsamic vinegar! oh my. This pizza will change everything
3. And finally our family favourite, and the one we make almost every Thursday night unless we need a change from it is the Robertson’s Margarita Pizza. First spread pizza sauce then sprinkle with 2 tbsp of brown sugar! Don’t skip this step, it changes everything. Then thinly slice pizza mozzeral and place all over the pizza. Lastly top with some fresh herbs. I like to use fresh basil but often can’t find it, and have tried fresh rosemary and oregano and loved that combination just as much!
I hope this inspires you to try making your own pizza, and maybe start incorporating a family movie night to your weekly schedule. The girls love knowing every Thursday night we are all going to settle in with our pizza, get cozy and watch a movie together and this brings them (and us) so much joy!
Love it! Can’t wait to make it!
