Before starting any renovation or design project I always start with a design board! I wrote an entire blog post about how I make my design boards with a corresponding video here.
Girls Bathroom Design Board

I can’t believe we have been living in this house for almost 5 years! We never knew how long we would live here. Our dream home would be to have a little land and live a little ways out of town and we haven’t found exactly what we are looking for in our budget so here we are 5 years later.
Because we do not know how long we will be in this home we have decided to better just start making it a home we love haha. This is something I usually recommend to do the moment you move in but in this case we liked our home the way it was when we bought it, especially if we were only going to be in it for a short time.
Now that its been almost 5 years, my style continue to evolve and morph into what works with this cottage style modern farmhouse-esq home and I am starting to come alive again when it comes to wanting to decorate this space.
Girls bathroom ideas
Yesterday I was watching YouTube and IG stories and all of a sudden out of no where I started to have some ideas for what I would like to see in the girls bathroom
Inspiration is like that and you never know exactly when it will hit haha so I ran down to the computer and pulled up Canva to start taking the ideas in my head and make them into a design board.
Design Board
I have an entire post dedicated to how I use Canva to make design boards. You can find that post here and I will add the corresponding video below if you are interested. This is not sponsored in anyway. I love canva and use it daily for blogging and decorating. It is seriously my most used and loved tool when it comes to creating.
Try Canva Pro and make design or mood boards easily with the background remover tool.
Bathroom Design Board

The first place I started with this design board was our bathroom vanity which looks a lot like this one I found on Wayfair! I love our cabinet that previous owners turned into a vanity but to update our bathroom and bring in some whimsy I would like to paint it a light lilac color like Chaise Mauve from Sherwin Williams!
This was my jumping off point and the first thing I added to my board. Next I found some faux florals that had a wildflower, traditional look from floral. Next I found a short organic looking white subway tile hung in a vertical fashion which is what I would love in the shower.
I added in some different wooden tones because although I want to paint the wooden vanity, I would love the wooden vibes and would like to add in a modern shaped mirror maybe trimmed out in walnut wood. I would love to paint a built in cabinet next to the vanity in a greige color like agreeable grey by SW or classic grey by BM.
Lastly I found some really adorable hardware for the cabinets from Anthro and some floral penny tile for the floor. We most likely will not be able to add new tile to the floor but the design board is the perfect place to add all your ideas and you aren’t stuck with any of them. They can even be used just for the feel or mood you want to create. You may end up not using any of the products you picked!
