Our cozy cottage dining room has seen some of the biggest transformation since we bought this house almost 5 years ago!
In todays post I thought I would gather all our resources for the dining room and have them in one place to help answer the questions we get about this room.
Cozy Cottage Dining Room

When we were contemplating purchasing this home the dining room was one of the top charming little corners that won me over. Though our home is small, it was the spaces like this that oozed with cottage charm that had me at first glance.
It did require some work though to make it more my style. The walls were a really cute bright yellow, and other than the beautiful windows surrounding the room, it didn’t have a focal point.
I am always drawn to neutrals so first thing we did was paint all the walls and trim Cloud White by Benjamin Moore.
A couple years in my husband built me this beautiful shiplap electric fireplace and it made the space so cozy. You can check out our tutorial on how we built the fireplace and all the sources we used as well.

We are currently updating the mantel of our fireplace to be wooden instead of white shiplap. I love the flexibility of doing a project yourself, especially if you change your mind frequently like me.

The linked rug and chandelier are exact matches for our dining room. Everything else is similar as these items in our cottage dining room are either very old or unavailable to link.
Our dining table is from Restoration Hardware and so are our dining chairs. Our black bench is made by us Revival Goods, however it is only available local to Grande Prairie. Our console table can be found on our Etsy shop.

Cozy cottage meets modern farmhouse home decor style
It’s always hard to peg our home decor style because it really is a combination of many different styles that work together. I love all things cozy cottage, modern farmhouse, a little boho and mid-century. You will see all of these styles reflected in our home, some more than others depending on the room.
Our dining room table is definitely a modern farmhouse style. The dining room leans more towards modern farmhouse cottage. I wanted to keep it modern and fresh without feeling to “farmhouse themed”.
This is something I typically avoid because I like a more gathered look. I have added in our mid-century console, modern candlesticks and holders, a modern arched gold mirror and boho style rug.
