Boho farmhouse home tour 2020. Check out our house and how we mix multiple styles to create a boho farmhouse decor style we love!

Boho Farmhouse Decor Style
Defining your home decor style really isn’t absolutely necessary when it comes to decorating your own home.
In fact I tend to play by the rules of if you love it and it makes your heart sing, then add it in to your home.
I always try my best to stay away from adding in trends just because they are, well, trendy.
In order to love your home, you should decorate in a style you love. If you don’t know that style, start with a piece you love and work out from there.
Working with your homes natural style
Because of the style of our home when we bought it, farmhouse decor became something I needed to embrace.
I lean towards a modern, bohemian cottage style not your typical country farmhouse decor.
Our home has natural skinny hardwood floors.
A beautiful stair case that looks like it was pulled out of an old school house.
Beautiful “farmhouse” style built in shelving units and a vertical wainscotting backsplash in the kitchen.
With all this farmhouse charm, I decided to incorporate farmhouse into my typical boho modern taste.

Living Room Boho Farmhouse Decor Style

Sectional (similar)(similar), Jute Rug, Blue Rug, Coffee table , Pouf, Pillow 1, Pillow 2 , Pillow 3, Gold Mirror, Gold Table Lamp
We decided to face our sectional in the opposite direction this living room was intended for.
In doing so we limited the space in our front entry, however we rarely use it. We always direct our guests to our other entryway.
Turning our sectional this direction opened up our living space and gave us room to add in a large tv.

Floating shelves are from Ikea, similar option here.
Kitchen

Gold Bar Hardware, Flush mount Black Lights, Backsplash, Kitchen Sink
When we moved in our kitchen was all white with a black speckled laminate countertop and round knob hardware.
It also had track lighting running throughout. That had to go!
You can see the full transformation in this post. We also have a post for how to paint your kitchen cabinets as well as a post for painting your laminate countertops!

Entrway

We recently did a mini makeover on our back entry by painting the walls cloud white by Benjamin Moore ( the color of our entire house) and the trim and door Repose Grey by Sherwin Williams.
We also painted our tile!! In this lovely checkerboard pattern and you can read all about what products we used and check out our tutorial here.
Bedroom

Cane Headboard, Rug, Tan bedding, pom pom bedding, pom pom pillow, lamps, painting.
Our most recent space we updated was our master bedroom. Our master bedroom is actually really small. In fact our whole house is around 1200 sq feet, not including our finished basement.
I wanted to bring in a cozy vibe into this space so I started by painting the walls. I went with a much darker color then I usually gravitate towards. This color is called Chimney by Behr.
We love how it turned out and how cozy it makes our room! Then we brought in a new headboard and I am in love with the beautiful cane details!
