A ceiling fan in our bedroom is a non-negotiable in our home. My husband rarely makes any requests when it comes to home design or decor but a ceiling fan is his one must have.
I love him so for all these 14 years we have been married I have given up my dreams of having a beautiful light fixture in our bedroom. But when we needed to get a new fan I went on the hunt for a fan that could fit both our dream lists. Beauty meets function.
In this post I wanted to share our beautiful new ceiling fan with you as well as some other gorgeous options I found. We no longer have to sacrifice style for a cooling breeze in our bedrooms!
Beautiful Ceiling Fans
Before Christmas we came home from church one Sunday to find a horrible burning plastic smell filling our house. We ran all over looking for a fire, and when we entered our bedroom we found ash floating through the air and the smell was very intense.
My husband removed our ceiling fan and found that there had been some kind of malfunction inside the fan and it had lit on fire! We were terrified. At the time we had 5 puppies in our home waiting to go to their forever homes, as well as our own dogs and of course all our belongings.
We have since reached out to the company who made our fan and are trying to get compensation for all the damages that have come because of this faulty fan\. And of course we needed a new one.
I was on the hunt for something beautiful and functional as well as WELL MADE. I had heard of Hunter fans and new the quality was supposed to be top notch so thats what we went with.
Hunter Hepburn Ceiling Fan
We need up choosing the hunter Hepburn ceiling fan. I love that this particular fan really resembles a regular light, and is very classy looking. Another perk of this fan is that the blades are reversible. We ended up showcasing the wooden side but you could also flip them for a plain white if thats more your style.

We have a lot more work to do on our room. All the walls need to be repainted with a smoke repellent paint because the smell of burnt plastic is still going strong. We also need to replace all our bedding, mattress and rug and hope that that gets rid of any linger scent.
But for now we have a beautiful new ceiling fan, and thats one step in the right direction!
